Frankfurt Book Fair 2026 was already set to be a special one for us: it will be our first time there as Audatio. We are all the more excited that we will not only be arriving under a new name, but also shaping an entire Saturday dedicated to audiobooks together with many of our partners.
On Saturday, 10 October 2026, we will turn the Imagination Stage in Hall 4.0 into an audiobook stage for the entire day. The programme has been created together with publishers and partners from across the audio industry, who have contributed a wealth of ideas, enthusiasm and creative energy.
From Caroline Wahl to Ingolf Lück
The result is a programme that reflects just how diverse the world of audiobooks has become. Caroline Wahl will be joined by actress and audiobook narrator Lisa Hrdina to talk about her new novel 1999 Meter über dem Meer. Jan Weiler will read from Das Vogelhaus. Bestselling author Klaus-Peter Wolf will talk about Onkel Warfsmann und das Meer and what it is like to narrate his own books. Actor, presenter and comedian Ingolf Lück brings Nuno Nasenbär to the stage for younger visitors, while Matthias Matschke will read from Jochen Gutsch’s Frankie – Unter Menschen.
Elsewhere in the programme, we will explore Romantasy, Fantasy and Dark Romance, multi-narrator productions and, of course, the people behind the microphone. Narrator Mona Fischer brings Cassandra Clare’s Better in Black to the stage, Heba Al-Wasity and A. T. Emerald talk about their Romantasy worlds, and Anne Lück and Nina-Carissima Schönrock discuss Songs of the Void. The Fabely Audiobook Quiz adds an interactive element, while the panel “My Voice Is Not a Dataset” gives space to one of the issues currently shaping the audio industry.
Between sessions, the neighbouring area will host signings and further opportunities to meet authors and narrators. From 10 am to 6 pm, the programme spans a wide range of genres, audiences and age groups – from children’s audiobooks to Dark Romance, and from entertainment to conversations about the wider issues facing our industry.
Creating more space for audiobooks, together
The day has been made possible in collaboration with Der Audio Verlag, der Hörverlag/Penguin Random House, Argon, Hörbuch Hamburg, JUMBO/GOYA, CalmeMara, dp DIGITAL PUBLISHERS, Miss Motte Audio and Bookwire/Fabely.
And that is ultimately what this stage is about for us: working together to give audiobooks the space they deserve at the world’s largest book fair.
We are very much looking forward to the day – and, above all, to welcoming as many audiobook fans as possible to Hall 4.0, J85.
